How to deal with and hpv emotionally?

I contracted HSV about 4 years ago from my current boy friend. He had a cold sore (caused by oral and contagious) on his mouth and gave me while he has it... we didn't know any better at the time. I would rather not have either but some times bad things happen to good people. HSV and HPV are not a death sentence (unless you have one of the types of HPV that causes cervical cancer), you can still do all that you want with your life. If you can try to forgive your ex specially if he didn't know about it, that may help you to move on and it's not healthy to hold a grudge. It's hard to accept these things but it does get better as you accept it. All I can say is give it time, it took me a couple of months to get over what I like to call the "why me" stage and accept what I have. You may want to also try researching your stds, it may make you feel better to know a couple of things about them. Try not to feel so dirty, you were doing nothing wrong when you contracted it, you were in love with your ex at the time.
